The Lodge @ Curry's Post is centrally
situated for a trip along the Midlands Meander routes or further a field to the
historic battlefield sites and majestic Drakensberg Mountains. The Lodge is associated
to numerous well-stocked trout and bass dams within a 10km radius and day trips
can be easily arranged on behalf of the guest.
Please
note that all the facilities below do not take place at The Lodge. Should
you wish to have bookings made on your behalf please do not hesitate to contact
management prior to arrival or on arrival, we will only be too happy to assist.
It is advisable that arrangements are made prior to arrival to ensure early bookings
and no disappointment.
Golf
The Lodge
is well located amidst numerous well appointed golf clubs - Boschoek, Howick Golf
Club, Mooi River Golf Club, Sakabula Golf Club and a number of other in the Pietermaritzburg
area.
Fishing
The
immediate area is an anglers paradise. Bass and Trout fishing (dam & river) can
be arranged at a number of venues / farms within the immediate area. Farmers usually
charge per rod, which includes a bag limit as well. Should you wish to book an

Nature
Reserves
Only a short distance from The Lodge, are a number of Nature
Reserves, which can be traversed by vehicle or on foot. Umgeni, Midmar, Karkloof,
Kamberg, Loteni, and a short drive away Weenen.
Water
sports
We are close to Midmar and Albert Falls Dam's, which provide unbeatable
facilities for yachting, water skiing, paddling and other water sports, the most
famous being the annual Midmar Mile in February of each year. The Lodge has it's
own boat and offers water skiing, tubing as well wake boarding on Midmar Dam.
A minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 people is required to utilize this facility. Contact

History
& Culture
The
Howick, Karkloof and Nottingham Road areas provide numerous historical and cultural
sites for those people interested in browsing through museums, viewing famous
waterfalls and historical buildings. A little further a-field toward Escourt and
Ladysmith (40 min drive) one can spend the day touring the historic Battlefield
Route.
Midlands Meander
The Lodge is
an active member of the Midlands Meander, an unforgettable experience, offering
a range of home produce, arts and crafts, clothing & footwear and of course the
numerous watering holes and dining experiences tucked away in the valleys. Visit

Arrangements can be made with experienced tour guides from the
Midlands area should you wish to have a guided tour of the area and its surrounds.
Trips can be arranged to neighbouring farms, meander shops, trout & bass fishing
dams, battlefield sites, Drakensberg Mountains, golf clubs and nature reserves.
A minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 people is required to utilize this facility and
the charge includes a light refreshment.
